Description of Graphics: In academia there is a poplar saying "Education is the new buffalo", alluding to the fact that Indigenous Peoples need to rely on more than just hunting to survive in contemporary times. Many Indigenous people enter academia to gather knowledge, achieve goals, and share their brilliance to encourage and inspire others to follow their path. In this watercolour and ink image, a buffalo jumps over fertile green grass while being bathed in the warmth of the sun. These bright sun rays reach out far, illuminating Indigenous futures.
